About
Music lessons are my earliest memories at only two years of age. I began studying piano when I was 6. Music was always very important and personal to me, and my teachers remarked about it. I joined concert band in grade 6, playing euphonium, eventually playing tuba in grade 12. I began singing in grade 9 in musical theatre, then joined choir and Men’s choir.
In grade 7 I fell in love with electronic music, and realized I could accurately create the drum sounds with my mouth!!! This slowly progressed more and more as I pushed my interest in music further. I first picked up a didgeridoo to play in 2012, and because I had the similar skills with playing brass, singing, and beatboxing, I learned quickly how to put those together. In early 2018, I discovered the online beatbox culture, and I fell in love again, learning far faster than I had before with more motivation.
My aim is to cultivate a vibrant and diverse all-ages beatbox community in Lekwungan territories (Victoria) to share the love, art, passion, growth, and fun that the music of beatboxing has brought to me. This happens through workshops, jams, performances, lessons, and online community.
Beatboxing has brought more music and passion to my day-to-day life than any thing else because I can groove wherever I go and get in touch with the spirit of music happening in the moment around me. People respond with curiosity and awe to beatboxing, and nearly everyone finds didgeridoo to be one of the coolest things! I am always very happy to interact with others through didge and beatbox.
